Melanie is a former journalist and daily newspaper news editor, now an experienced digital content strategist focused on developing teams of specialists skilled at driving growth, conversion and retention. She has a track record of creating cohesive, multichannel, SEO-focused content and social strategies underpinned by behavioral and business data and delivered through innovative, purposeful content design which meets the needs of its audience.

Tom worked his way through college as a nightshift subeditor and began a career in TV and radio before finding his niche in publishing. He held senior editorial positions with newsstand magazines and international book publishers and ran his own independent retail business for 11 years before joining Mind Tools in 2017. He also likes dogs and synthesizers.
Cat McLeod
Managing Editor
Cat began her career with a national radio station before moving into the heady world of advertising as a copywriter. She now has over 15 years experience writing, editing and managing content delivery for our learners, from animated video to infographics and e-learning. She currently manages our in-house team of writers. Away from her desk, she’s a mum, an unpaid dog walker and occasional wild swimmer.

Keith is a highly experienced writer, editor and journalist, with more than 30 years in the media and e-learning industries. He joined Mind Tools in 2015 and leads our team of talented editors. Away from work, Keith is either exploring the hiking trails of Sussex, or sitting patiently roadside in his old sports car awaiting a tow-truck.

Charlie combines the skills he learned as a scientist, welfare advisor, academic book editor, and copywriter, to support Mind Tools’ users and members in their knowledge, confidence and relationships at work. His private passions are public broadcast radio and podcasts, and woodland walks.

Matthew has several years’ experience in writing, editing and commissioning online content. As a content editor, he worked in several industries – including charity, culture and travel – before finding his calling in L&D at Mind Tools, where he creates accessible, timely and engaging content for learners, across resource types. When he’s not producing outstanding content, Matthew can usually be found traipsing up hills, visiting cinemas, or nose-deep in a good book.

Simon has been researching, writing and editing non-fiction for over 30 years. In that time he’s worked on educational courses, scientific journals, and mass-market trade books about everything from popular psychology to buying houses in Bulgaria. In the last 20 years he’s specialized in simplifying complex subjects, and helping readers to learn new skills. Away from work he listens to good music, watches bad football, and is fascinated by medieval history.
Jonathan Hancock

After 15 years as a BBC current-affairs presenter and producer, Jonathan spent a decade in education, progressing from classroom teacher to school leader. He’s passionate about all aspects of learning, but has a special interest in memory, having won two Guinness World Records and the title of World Memory Champion. Jonathan has published 14 books on thinking and learning, designed training programs and competitions, and consulted for TV shows. He also loves staying physically fit by competing in running events – from 5K races to ultramarathons.

A Film and English Literature graduate, Alice joined the team in 2019 and has been developing a multitude of new creative skills ever since. She produces a broad range of resource types, from writing blogs to producing videos and editing infographics. She enjoys quality-checking Mind Tools resources after publication and knowing that the content is helping others to thrive. When she’s not fixing typos and broken links or running the Permissions Helpdesk, Alice can be found rollerskating by the sea!

Lucy has over 10 years’ experience writing, editing and commissioning content. She regularly contributes to the Mind Tools blog, heads up Mind Tools’ video learning series, and particularly enjoys exploring and experimenting with new video formats. When she’s not producing fantastic new learning content, she can be found enjoying nature with her two kids and delving into the latest book on her very long reading list!

Kevin began training as a journalist on his local newspaper in 1989. He went on to spend 17 years at The Sun newspaper as a sports journalist and travel writer, and his work has been published in The Daily Telegraph, The Times and The Sunday Times. He joined the Mind Tools content team in 2019 and is also a keen golfer, traveler and eater.

With a background in writing and illustration, Rosie uses her creative eye to produce eye-catching content. Specializing in videos, newsletters and articles, Rosie produces, writes, edits, and proofreads a wide range of resources. Melanie has worked as a writer, freelance and in-house editor, university writing instructor, and language teacher. She is the author of a short story collection, “Dream Signs,” and a non-fiction book, “The Modern Enneagram.” She has written for several publications including Huffington Post, Cicada, and Contrary Magazine. She is a certified teacher of the Enneagram, a personality typology that illuminates people’s core motivations.

A Graphic Design graduate, Anna joined the team in 2022 and has been creating a wide range of designs for the Content Team.
